FORMULATION FOR IRON CHELATION: APROCESS FOR PREPARING THE FORMULATION AND A METHOD OF TREATING THALASSEMIA

ABSTRACT:

Composition (A) for treatment of thalassaemia comprises (wt.%): (a) powder of Anemonin Pretensis (0.02-0.12); (b) quinine sulphate (0.003-0.0005); (c) distilled or demineralised water (0-40); and (d) edible solvent (60-99.88).

(A) is useful for iron-chelation for the treatment of thalassaemia.

(A) has increased therapeutic activity, is inexpensive, has no side effects (e.g. does not damage vital organs) and is simple to administer.
